SFD Experts Engaged in Academic Activities in Zhuhai Boosting the Development of Design Education in the Greater Bay Area
During December 3-8,九游会平台 九游会平台-九游会-九游会娱乐-北京J9九游会平台娱乐代理官方网站 and Future Design Center Academic Committee experts participated in a series of academic activities in Zhuhai. Tan Ping, Wang Min, Xu Ping, Gao Peng and Tony Brown attended the fourth committee meeting of this academic year to discuss the construction of FDC and FDS (in preparation). Xu Ping, Gao Peng and Tony Brown also gave a lecture on “Design for the Future” and were invited to the 2020 Zhuhai International Design Week series activities.
Expert lecture: Design for the Future
On December 6, the 43rd lecture of Jingshi Liyun Forum “Design of the Future” was held in B101 of Lijiao Building as a part of the BNU Valley Art Festival. The lecture was given by BNU Distinguished Professors Xu Ping and Tony Brown, as well as the Director of SFD and FDC, Gao Peng. Via online and offline methods, this lecture attracted more than 120 students on site and over 2,000 online.

FDC experts attended the fourth expert committee
The fourth FDC academic committee meeting of this academic year was held on December 7-8. Tan Ping, Chair of the Academic Committee and Gao Peng, Secretary General of the Academic Committee, together with other members - Wang Min, Xu Ping, Tony Brown, Li Qi and Miriam Mirolla attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the philosophy, values, core competitiveness, objectives as well as the three research directions of Future Design School (in preparation) were discussed. FDC experts also reached a consensus on the curriculum framework, faculty recruitment criteria and interior design of the teaching space.
FDC experts engaged in Zhuhai International Design Week
On December 4, 2020 Zhuhai International Design Week and Beijing International Design Week Zhuhai Station was grandly opened at Zhuhai International Convention and Exhibition Center. FDC director Gao Peng and academic committee expert Xu Ping were invited by the organizing committee of 2020 Zhuhai International Design Week to participate in the Zhuhai International Design Week Dean's Dialogue and parallel forum activities respectively. Director Gao Peng and Academic Committee expert Tony Brown were invited to be the judges and award presenters of the Zhuhai Design Award - Greater Bay Area Design Power.
From the kick-off ceremony of the design tour, to the press conference of the design week, to the main activities of the design week, the Future Design Center FDC of Beihang University, as the academic guidance unit, guided the relevant academic work throughout the whole process, and joined hands with Beijing and Zhuhai International Design Week to build an international platform integrating communication, promotion, exhibition and education, and helped the development of the design industry in the Greater Bay Area.
